First wooden mug

I can't take the wait.
Thus I don't enjoy woodwork of myself.
But I find a chunk of wild cherry tree
that is well seasoned.

I hesitate to decide what I make.
Finally, big mug cup is a decision.

Because I have a pain in my wrist,
the mug must be simple or minimal.

It's more of a prototype...
I add a leash on the handle,
but its shape isn't satisfactory.

For lighter weight,
its bottom is scraped out.

Leaking test : passed
I decorate a sheep's backbone
that have got during my travels
in Mongolia.

I change the shape of its handle,
color with coffee powder,
and coat with linseed-turpentine
oil mix.

After the coating is set,
I wash out the rest of oil
with boiled water.

Finished!
Jasmin tea emits a subtle scent.

Final shape:
To some degree,
I am content with it.

A little long-headed grasshopper
drops in this mug
for his/her congratulations.

He/She nibbles away leash greedily.:)
More natural... it will be.

Life jacket remodeling

The life jackets that I prefer
are extremely expensive.
There is no that catchs my fancy
and is cheap.. ?

I buy a cheap stuff $7,
for remodeling it.

I have a M65 desert jacket
I don't like to wear,
but like its color and pattern.

A cheap life vest and combat jacket
combine to transform nice life jacket. :)

A loud whistle is installed.
I make this vest
by a laundryman's sewing machine.

Because its webbings are sewn at lining,
it won't be identify as life jacket. :)
Is it getting better?

Private natural bathtub

A long spell of rainy weather is over.
There is a rainbow in the sky,
that remind me of God' promise.
The heat wave with temperatures
over 33 Celsius degrees has come at once.

I set up a private natural bathtub
near my place of work. :)
It's about five minutes's walk.

It lies on  a desolate valley.
I strip naked and jump in the tub.
The water is very cool and clean.

I spent the long lunch break
just lazing around in cool bathtub.
I don't mind the intense heat in this place.

A little viper takes a rest
in the shade of a rock.
The sweltering temperature urges us
to sign a gentleman's agreement. :)

Changing the seat position of canoe

It's been raining
for twenty consecutive days.
I don't go out of doors, stick to house.

In the meantime, I change
the seat position of my canoe;
1.7 inch downward.

In local shops, I don't get
the bolt so much long.
Thus I weld original bolt
to another small stainless bolt.

The bolts extended are strong
as much as original,
by stainless MIG welding.

The rainy season is nearly over.
It is exceptionally rainy this summer.
I'll be there as soon as possible. :)

A frying pan with wooden folding handle

The former alumnium handle conducts
heat too fast.
I put wood over it,
and extend its length.

The material is ash wood.
Adding some water paint,
it looks like a vintage thing.

Handle folded...

The rainy season in South Korea
is from the end of June
through to the middle of July.
Two puppies stay at indoor
in the season.

I'll install two rivets on the handle,
and add a quiet gloss.

Camping in the downpour

Last Saterday, I joined
the camp of the district.
Coolfish, the advance unit member,
completed the arrangements.

I set up my shelter in a hurry.
Raindrops fell on the forest at intervals.

The rest of members were
arriving one after another.

Coolfish's minimal cook set.
Homemade kuksa and spoon,
Canteen cup and diy lid,
Trangia alcohol stove and
diy pot stand.

Jiwoo's father showed
new diy kuksa and
big spoon.

As the night goes on,
we had a talk,
enjoyed drinking. :)

Kelly kettle supplied
our mug with hot water easily.
It is 500ml stainless kettle.

My cheapest kettle vs
exorbitant price MSR titan kettle

From 3 AM, it rained heavily.
Jiwoo's father site was flooded.

I leaned back and
was blankly looking raindrops.
We had to turn back early,
because the brook had risen rapidly.
