Cook pot re-re-handled

My main cook pot is a japanese brand
'Captain Stag',
14cm diameter aluminum ware.
Its original right angle handle
is unsatisfactory to me.

I made a round handle of 2mm stainless wire.
But It was so thin.

Yesterday, I got some brass wire,
and made the second version
round handle.

Its 3mm brass handle looks it like vintage.
Now, it gratifies my desires. :)

My vintage like matters come togather. :)

Practice fire making

I've suffered from overwork(?) for some days.
In this weekend, I'll don't camp out.

At the camp in last weekend,
a my friend practiced making fire.
He untwined linen thread.

We made some charclothe,
for the spark catcher.

We cooked the simplest foods.
But its taste was so good.

I made another flint steel meanwhile.
It was improved on its shape.

Fire making by this kit is easy,
relatively speaking. :)

My dog 'Bingo', three month old,
grew up rapidly.

I want to camp out with Bingo
in the near future.

Some steel works

Yesterday, I made
a flint steel for the first time.
Its material is a part of the file.

But its form is unsatisfactory.
When it hits the pyrite stone,
spark is generated well.

Another work is a woodcrafting drill.
I weld a small pipe on its head.

For outdoor use, a handle that
made of branch is inserted
through the pipe.

A puppy 'Bingo'
arouses her curiosity. :)

Seton's wild animals story &

In Saturday afternoon, I set up the camp
in my backyard.

German army wool knit shirt
and south korean army pants...

Choi-Book that I invited as a guest made a fire
in his DIY cylinder stove.
Though a beginner at camping,
he has an eye.

He is a book illustrator.
He had designed the cover of Seton's book.
He presented a book to me.

Commando, another guest, joined the camp.

The next morning... a cup of coffee...
Slow and simple life...

I was immersed in the book.
Wild animals I have UNknown... :)

The reminiscence of Dossaeul trail

In last summer, I've been to Dossaeul trail.
It is far about 100km from my house.

The distance across of the trail is 20km.
Unfrequented way is headed for the valley.

The summer was at it's hottest.
I had lunch in the shade.

My clothes were soaked with sweat.
It was hard to walk.

I washed myself in the mountain stream.
So refreshing! :)

Mossy rock at the waterside was refreshing too.

I set up the shelter at the water's edge.
UK army basha and wool blanket...

5.11 summer boots and pants,
DIY hatchet.

I had read a book of a master
of a Buddhist priest.

My evening meal on the collasible grill.

Early the next morning...

I want to go Dossaeul trail
in the near future.

Aluminum percolator glass knob exchanged!

I have a vintage 2.0 liter percolator.
I want to use it for camping kettle.
But its glass knob looks some brittle.

So, I exchange it metal one :
round stainless sheet x 2
copper rivet x 4
triangle stainless knob.

Steel knob is adhered to the round sheet
by spot welding.

The result is satisfied. :)
I will use it main cooker in the field.

Open my private camp site!

In last weekend,
I opened my private camp site. lol
It located in the mountains
nearest my house.

I had found the flatness
by 4m x 20m in the forest.
Though the forest is some poor,
it is well hiding from the outside,
sunny and silent.

Coolfish, my first invited guest,
presented some woodcraft.
A fallen tree is proper a natural shelter.

I was pinching because of a bad fire. :)

Hot soup and tea were coming along fine.

We drank some glass of wine. :)
The satisfactory night was far advanced.

I awoked with laziness.
A balmy sunday morning...
