Private natural bathtub

A long spell of rainy weather is over.
There is a rainbow in the sky,
that remind me of God' promise.
The heat wave with temperatures
over 33 Celsius degrees has come at once.

I set up a private natural bathtub
near my place of work. :)
It's about five minutes's walk.

It lies on  a desolate valley.
I strip naked and jump in the tub.
The water is very cool and clean.

I spent the long lunch break
just lazing around in cool bathtub.
I don't mind the intense heat in this place.

A little viper takes a rest
in the shade of a rock.
The sweltering temperature urges us
to sign a gentleman's agreement. :)

  1. I love this blog and this post. I lived in Seoul for a few years in the early 1980s and I still get nostalgic about my trips to the country side. It is so beautiful in Korea. I remember the heat in the summer and the freezing temperatures in winter, but always the country side was a nice respite from the city. We hiked to the woods for natural spring water in the summer and in winter we sat on ondol floors and ate roasted chestnuts, sweet potatoes and little oranges. I think you are a wise and lucky man.

  2. I'm really glad to know you. Your 80's reminiscences in Korea arouse my nostalgia... At that time, I was a college boy in Seoul. This country has changed quite a bit in the meantime. In a word, over-developed... I heard you emigrated from Utah to Alaska, isn't that? I hope to know the life of arctic wilderness.

  3. That looks like a lovely spot. Water, shade, warmth...and having a gentleman's agreement with your neighbour is a lovely touch. Many people would just think of killing the snake for no other reason that's it's there. He's got as much right as we have, really. A beautiful place and a lovely post. Thank you.
